About me
I am a data scientist with a background in mathematics and physics. I have been working in data science for the past 8 years using time-series data, geospatial data, imagery, electronic health records and text.
Recently I’ve discovered DuckDB and Polars, and, like most people, have been experimenting with Large Language Models for automating some of the drugery in data science work.
My overall philosophy for problem solving is to opt for simple techniques first and understand them well, only drawing on sophisticated tools and algorithms when needed (and sometimes out of curiosity). I like to keep up-to-state with developments in the field. Outside of work I enjoy riding my bike, languages, cooking, music and reading.
