I am a machine learning engineer and data scientist with a PhD in maths.
- My main interests are in applying techniques machine learning and statistics to problems in healthcare, currently in the domains of mental health and cancer.
- My skillset ranges from from data wrangling and analysis (Pandas, Polars, DuckDB, PySpark), to machine learning model development (Pytorch, Keras), data visualisation (Seaborn, ggplot), deployment (Azure, Databricks) and, recently, using LLMs for clinical information extraction.
- I have developed a reasonably useful data linkage and geocoding tool called whereabouts which was jointly awarded the Venables Award in 2024
- I occasionally write up some of the things I am learning in a blog or jupyter notebooks
